Campaigns and publications

The Scottish Pensioners’ Forum (SPF) is the national campaigning voice for older people in Scotland, working with local forums and organisations and retired trade union branches.

The SPF are committed to protecting welfare rights, promoting equality, and ensuring dignity in later life. We campaign on the issues that matter most to pensioners because no one should face poverty, isolation, or insecurity in old age.

Our work focuses on:

  • Fair Pensions: Defending the State Pension and opposing increases in the pension age that harm the most vulnerable.
  • Fuel Poverty: Challenging rising energy costs and standing charges to ensure older people can heat their homes without fear.
  • Universal Benefits: Fighting to keep vital lifelines such as the Winter Fuel Payment and free TV licences.
  • Health and Social Care: Advocating for accessible, high-quality services that meet the needs of Scotland’s ageing population.
  • Digital Inclusion and Safety: Protecting older people from scams and ensuring they are not left behind in a digital world.
