Annual Conference 2026
SPF Thirty Fourth Annual Conference
Tuesday 16th June 2026, City Chambers, Glasgow
Formal invitations will be sent to our members and affiliates in February 2026.
We look forward to seeing you there.
SPF Annual Conference 2025, Renfrew
The Scottish Pensioners’ Forum’s annual conference took place on 10th June 2025 at the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew with over 100 delegates in attendance.
A civic welcome was delivered by Renfrewshire’s Lord Provost, Lorraine Cameron, who welcomed delegates and praised the SPF’s role in amplifying older voices and shaping policy through sharing their lived experiences.
Chairperson Rose Jackson highlighted SPF’s active campaigning work, their engagement with 31 older people’s groups and their involvement in 5 cross-party parliamentary groups, meaning that for a small organisation, the SPF punched well above its weight.
SPF Annual Conference 2024, Stirling
Ten years after our last conference at the Golden Lion Hotel, the Scottish Pensioners’ Forum returned to the Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling in June 2024 to host its 32nd Annual Conference.
The event marked a significant milestone, bringing together members, affiliates and stakeholders to address pressing issues affecting older people in Scotland.
The conference theme: “Who’s Really Paying the Price for our Care?” sparked a vital discussion around the cost and responsibility of care provision in Scotland.
SPF Annual Conference 2023, Aberdeen
On 13th June 2023, The Scottish Pensioners’ Forum held our 31st Annual Conference at the Townhouse in Aberdeen, our first time back in the city for over 10 years.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Coming out of Covid – What’s Changed?” and delegates in Aberdeen certainly had a lot to say on the matter.
Guest speakers included David Linden MP, SNP Westminster Spokesperson on Social Justice, Mercedes Villalba MSP, North East Region and Linda Carmichael of the WASPI Campaign.
SPF Annual Conference 2022
We were delighted to be able to hold our first in-person conference in 3 years at the City Chambers Glasgow in June 2022, to help celebrate our 30th year of campaigning work on behalf of older people across Scotland.
There were over 100 people in attendance, and it was clear to see that people were happy to be out and about again!
Guest speakers included Roz Foyer, General Secretary of the STUC, Colin Scott, Hourglass Scotland, Thompson’s Solicitors and Jim McGinn, Unite Scotland National Care Service Campaign.
An emergency motion tabled from Unite Glasgow Retired Members Branch condemned the UK Government’s Spring Statement for its failure to deal with the ever-increasing price rises facing older people due to the cost of living crisis and conference agreed that this should be the SPF’s main priority moving forward.
